The Concept?

The concept is quite simple. Provide one place where people interested in the LUSO community can be informed & entertained in a honest, positive and informal manner.

Who does LUSOBEAT™ appeal to?

LUSOBEAT™ is meant to peak the interests of fans, artists, musicians and any other individual interested in the music of our LUSO community.

Who pays for LUSOBEAT™ to be up?

At this stage of the game I’m trying to determine if there’s actual interest in the LUSO community. Like any other great page it starts off as an idea and works it’s way up. So currently it is privately funded. Meaning paid for by ME!

Who’s ME? You ask?

Well my name is Jimmy “Jam” Ferreira and thanks for visiting LUSOBEAT™.com. I currently reside in Pawtucket RI, USA and have been involved in the LUSO community for over 20 years mostly playing in bands. I currently play keys for David Demelo and Banda Internacional and have played keys for countless others such as "Os Estrangeiros", "Ana Maria & Apollo 80", "Fantasy", “Nelia”, “Mauricio Morais”, “Marc Dennis”, “Jack Sebastiao” (R.I.P.) and filled in for "Os Sombras", "Os Sailors", "Runaways", "Jorge Silva", "Tiny Tavares" and "Jose Cid". For years I've been seeing the LUSO community deplete in numbers as we continue to play our festivals and believe the reason is that the LUSO community just isn't relating to the music and/or just aren't informed of the LUSO events happening in their area. Hence one of the reasons for LUSOBEAT™.

What are the other reasons?

There’s a few more some of them being personal such as self accomplishment being socially responsible to our great community etc… Hey! Just the fact I get the privilege to meet and take pictures with you! How cool is that?

How long will LUSOBEAT™ be around for?

I’m starting this page as a 3 month pilot. If it “fills a need” then hopefully I’ll be around for a few more issues. But again can’t do it without your help.

What does this website need to keep going?

For LUSOBEAT™ to be successful I need everyone’s help. First I need the support of the musical talent to provide me with information so that I may share with the fans. Secondly and most importantly I need you, the FANS to come to the site and click away. Read the articles, view the videos, listen to the songs, vote, win and take the polls let me know what you think!
