MAURICIO MORAIS

Mauricio Morais was born in Mairos-Chaves Portugal. He came to the United States in 1966 with his parents and 12 siblings. They settled in Massachusetts where he still lives today. Learning to play the accordian in his hometown, it was evident that he had a passion for music. Once in the United States he was influenced by the Beatles and Elvis Presley and his love of music began and at the tender of age of 15 he formed a band, where they performed through out local clubes in the New England area.

In the early 80s he started to write his own songs that led to his first recording in 1984, the name of the album was "Show Me the Way" it was recorded in Lisbon,Portugal, and with this album Mauricio Morais had the honor of working with one of the greatest maestro and pianist's of Europe Jorge Machado and his orchestra.

In 1994 he recorded his third album "Dá-me Uma Pinguinha" and his music career was forever changed. In 1996 he was awarded his first Gold Record. Dá-me Uma Pinguinha has now been recorded by several well known artists in the Portuguese communities.

In 1998 Henda Records presents Mauricio Morais with his second Gold Record for his album "Gosto Dela". His most recent recording is "A Vida é uma Canção" which is his 11th album.

Today because of his musical success Mauricio Morais has had the honor to travel the Portuguese communities through out America, Canada, Bermuda, Venezuela, France, Australia and Portugal in hopes of bringing joy to his fans through out the world.
