Lusobeat™: Analog or Digital?

Ricardo: “We were taught originally in Analog but with the ever changing technology to be successfully competitive we had to go the Digital route. But ultimately it’s up to artist in what they feel they want”

LB: Who does most of the writing?

Ricardo: “I do most of the lyrical writing”...

Evaldo: “…we definitely recommend to anyone in the songwriting biz to get yourselves a mini digital recorder and carry it around in your pocket as you never know you when you’ll get a song idea”.

LB: What makes REMIX productions different from other recording studios?

Evaldo: “First and foremost we let our clients know, when they first walk through the door that we want to make them feel comfortable and we want to work with them in a professional manner”.

Ricardo: “We like our clients to feel that this like their own studio”.

Evaldo: “We want them to feel as this was their second home”.

LB: With so many artists on the project list how do you keep things organized?

Both: “The schedule book”.

Evaldo: “Thank Goodness for the schedule book, if it wasn’t for that, we would have conflicting dates and before you know it we would be behind weeks”

LB: Does R.E. Mix production mix live bands?

Ricardo: “Yes, we do”.

Evaldo: “We are in the process of working with a Rock n Roll band called “Nacirema” that’s American spelt backwards”.

LB: Do you get involved with any of the Pre-Production work?

Evaldo: “Sure we’ll help out through the full production”.

LB: Any songs produced by you recently been played on the Radio?

Evaldo: “Oh Yeah! As a matter of fact one of the latest songs that we can mention is from the Jack Tribute CD the song “Ja Fui Teu” we redid all the music here and Rob Leonardo a good friend of ours did the final mix. Also we had done a remake of a Christmas song by Wham called “Last Christmas” which was also on the radio this past December”.

LB: Is Remix affiliated with a performance rights organization?

Evaldo: “Yes! BMI and we strongly recommend any songwriter to copyright their work”.

Ricardo: “Definitely! You wanna be safe than sorry”.

LB: How did the name R.E. Mix Production come about?

Ricardo: “That’s an easy one! R & E Ricardo and Evaldo.

Evaldo: “It’s so simple like that”.

LB: Has R.E. Mix Production ever done a Film Score?

Ricardo: “Currently we have not but definitely open to the idea”.

Evaldo: “Yeah! Definitely! Conan the Barbarian part 10 anyone want in?”

LB: Which project has been your toughest?

Evaldo: “Toughest one I would have to say was ours. Young fire. The most difficult part was dealing with our own deadlines while still servicing our clients.”

LB: What affect do you feel you’ve had in our Luso Community and how do you think we can improve presenting the music to the fans?

Ricardo: “Well as you know the web is a big deal now a days for artists, especially upcoming artists and like yourself, Lusboeat™.com all help in improving communications”.

Evaldo: “It’s a good way to get it out there. It’s good exposure for all our artists and we need that...”

Ricardo: “The web is pretty much were the world is watching”

Evaldo: “Lusobeat™.com is definitely a good step in the right direction”.

LB: Where can the Lusobeat™ audience visit you on the web?

Evaldo: “They can visit us at www.youngfire.com in which all the business links are available or on My Space www.myspace.com/youngfire87 or www.myspace.com/remixproductions “
